Why do we have youth group?  Why do we have Sunday School?  Why do we shave balloons?  (o.k., I don't know the answer to that either)

But I do know that the purpose of Realife Sigma is to develop mature Christian youth.

How can you tell if your a mature Christian youth?  Here's 5 signs that you're a mature Christian youth ...

You're a Mature, Christian Youth when ...

1)  You're Saved.  1 Timothy 1:15 says that "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners."  To be saved you must accept Christ as your Lord and Savior.  That means realize that you NEED Him.  He died and rose for your sins - now you accept that gift and determine to serve Him.

2)  You're Studying.  Not just in school (though that's good to), but studying God's Word.  Grab the Bible and read it.  Psalm 119:11 says, "I have hidden Your Word in my heart that I might not sin against You."  To follow God you need to know what He says - read and memorize His Word, the Bible.

3)  You're Soul-Burdened.  You WANT to see other people come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior - and you SHOW Christ through the way you act and how you talk.  You "preach the Word" all the time through your actions (2 Timothy 4:2).

4)  You're Separated.  You take actions to avoid things that will lead you to sin.  You "flee the devil" and you offer your life up to Christ (Romans 12:1-2).  If you not only say you believe, but also show it - that's maturity - but there's one more ...

5)  You're Surrendered.  This is totally giving it all to God.  Are you willing to go wherever Christ wants you to and do whatever He wants you to - even if it means giving up what you want?  When you've matured in Christ then nothing is more important than Him.
